Every attempt is made to restore your tape deck's operation to peak performance. This is not always possible, however. For starters, most OEM replacement parts are obsolete and no longer available. Motors, spindles, levers, springs, heads, pinch rollers, etc are all examples of obsolete hardware for most makes of reel to reel.

We are no more capable of obtaining these parts than anyone else, so replacement hardware in these cases will most certainly be pulled from used machines. Be advised that if parts like this are required, it can make the turnaround time considerably longer.

Since it is impossible to predict what will be found inside, occasionally we encounter a machine that is beyond its worth. Broken PC boards or machines subject to high moisture are examples of symptoms we cannot foresee.

If it is concluded the set is too costly to repair, we charge a modest fee of $25 for the unpacking and analysis. This fee is only charged if repairs are not made.
