Why Choose 4reelaudio.com For Your Akai?

With great attention to detail, we do things the hard way!

Quality is the end result of our work.

We completely remove the section we are currently working on. This allows for a cleaner job, and better access to the components being tested and/or replaced. We can also solder in the components better with them out in the open. As always, no wires were cut for this example.

Any wires that need to be removed to allow access are desoldered at their ends.

We are proud to keep the machine as much like the way it left the factory as possible.

Pre-Amp Removed
Pots and Switches Removed

Switches and potentiometers are de-soldered and removed for servicing. We have never sprayed into an assembled machine and never will.

Any excess chemical is carefully cleaned from each component before it is soldered back in.

All mechanical parts needing cleaning and lube as part of maintenance are removed and disassembled.

This is the proper method to make sure the job is done right, and that lubrication goes only where it needs to.

Disassembled Counter
747 Tension Assembly

Another example of proper service procedure; the tension assembly from an Akai GX-747.

We disassemble every one of these to rebuild them the right way.

Some components can be brought out to the open without needing to be desoldered.

This example shows wired potentiometers removed for cleaning.
